Safe Environment Training

In accordance with the Diocese of Nashville, all volunteers (over 18 years old) who work with children, youth or vulnerable adults must complete Safe Environment Training, have a Criminal Background Check completed and sign a Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Our Lady of the Lake is committed to providing a safe environment where it values and honors every individual as created in the image and likeness of God.

For those of you who have been volunteering at the church for a long time, we are no longer using the paper forms for our adult volunteers.  The Diocese of Nashville has moved to an online system for the initial safe environment training, the required annual disclosure and the background checks.  Volunteers will go through an actual curriculum in the form of 3 training videos with a question and answer section after each video, that should take approximately 60-75 minutes and will include a criminal background check that must be completed.  Three non-family references will also be required and it is a new policy of the Diocese that we check these references.  Please be sure to let your references know that they will be receiving a call from the Safe Environment Coordinator at Our Lady of the Lake. These training courses are available in English and Spanish. We will no longer accept the paper background check forms for adult volunteers. Minors, ages 13-17 (along with their parent/guardian) should review and sign the Minor form and return that via email to Ginger Lannom at gingerl@ololcc.org.

If you have not already logged onto to CMG connect to start this process, we ask that you do so. Even if your most recent paper background check was completed in the last five years, we need you to be certified by the online process.
